A player is credited with a Ghost Run whenever he makes a clear contribution to a run without getting either the run scored or the RBI. Ghost Runs are of two types: a) Ghost Run Scored: Batter reaches but is put out on a forceout or fielder’s choice; runner who takes his place later scores. b) Ghost RBI: Batter advances runner who later scores, and who would not or might not have scored at the same time had the batter not advanced him.
