I had an idea for new stat called “Houdinis.” This comes actually from a series of Royals games back in 2005 in which the Royals escaped from a bases-loaded, no-out jam without a run scoring three times in four games. I thought “We ought to count that. . .what do you call it?” It’s obvious. . . .
A “Houdini” is credited to any pitcher who: a) finds himself in a bases-loaded, no-out jam, b) gets out of the situation without allowing a run.
